Scottish Rite Headquarters

The Scottish Rite headquarters' design mixes 18th and 19th century tradition with modern amenities, technology, and high-end finishes. The 64,000 square foot structure consists of a cathedral, preceptor, traditional masonic lodge hall, library, dining room, and administrative offices. The building is constructed of a blend of contemporary and historic materials and rare details. RRJ performed field and laboratory testing services during the construction of this new facility.

Litigation assistance to the owner of this 59-story high-rise office tower to recoup repair costs due to severe leakage problems at the roof setback/curtain wall interfaces. Reviewed the curtain wall contract documents for constructability and addressed contractor counterclaims for extras related problems encountered during erection. Trial materials using 3-D modeling were designed to evaluate the complex setback roof and spire geometries, along with color graphics and full-size mockups of critical curtain wall and structural frame components and assemblies.

Visual condition survey of the exterior facade marble cladding panels located at this high-rise mixed-use development. The survey identified deterioration of the washers used in repair anchors and unique linear features requiring further evaluation.
