Cody Harvey is awarded the 2018 Garth D. Hall Scholarship in Architectural Technology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, School of Architecture

As a Graduate student, Cody Harvey has been exposed to many aspects of the Engineering and Architectural fields.  He graduated from University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies.  Upon graduation, he commissioned into the United States Army where he served as an Air Defense Officer.  Cody was stationed across the world and deployed to Afghanistan, where he assisted in the design of numerous structures to help provide security and accessibility to existing bases and buildings.  After his commitment to the Army had finished, he returned to University of Illinois to complete the Civil Engineering (Structures) and Architectural Master's programs.

During his studies, he was a Teaching Assistant for ARCH 351 and 352 (Mechanics and Dynamics).  After his first year, Cody interned with HOK in St. Louis as an Architectural Intern.  The following summer, Cody was a Structural Engineering Intern with MKA in Seattle.  Cody plans on graduating with his Masters of Architecture and Masters of Civil and Environmental Engineering (Structural Engineering) in May 2019.

Established by Raths, Raths & Johnson, Inc. in 2014 to honor the legacy of RRJ Principal, Garth Hall, AIA, this annual scholarship is awarded to a graduate student pursuing dual Masters degrees in Architecture and Engineering with the focus of studies in the field of building science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, School of Architecture.
