This corporate office complex serves as the North American headquarters for Experian, a global information services group. The headquarters facility consists of three low-rise buildings grouped in a campus setting. Each of the four-story buildings are clad with a combination of glass and aluminum curtain wall, ribbon windows, and precast concrete panels.
RRJ was retained by Experian to perform in situ air infiltration, water penetration, and structural performance testing of the ribbon window and curtain wall systems to verify their compliance with the project specifications during construction.
RRJ designed and erected the required test chambers and provided all necessary equipment for performing the tests, including calibrated water spray racks, airflow meters, and electronic instruments for recording glass and framing member deflections. Centrifugal blowers were used to create simulated test area wind pressure and suction loads of up to 37.5 psf.
Diagnostic testing identified water penetration paths, resulting from the installation of out-of- tolerance glazing materials. Based upon RRJ’s findings, the glazing subcontractor replaced defective materials. System retesting after modification verified compliance with contract requirements.
