Garlands of Barrington

The Garlands of Barrington Retirement Community is a development of luxurious residential units and assisted living service facilities housed in a sprawling complex of three- and four-story condominium-style buildings and residential “Villa” townhomes.

RRJ was engaged as the owner’s representative to provide quality assurance services during a comprehensive roofing cover replacement project.  The project consists of removal and replacement of over 200,000 square feet of steep-sloped composite shingles; 105,000 square feet of faux slate; large quantities of standing seam metal and modified bitumen roofing; gutters, fascia, flashings, and other miscellaneous aluminum and copper fabrications, spanning over a multi-year construction schedule.

RRJ services included ongoing review of the contractor’s repair drawings, development of repair details and selection of materials, as required, to ensure quality and code compliance, processing of contractor submittals, and review of contractor applications for payment.  RRJ regularly conducted on-site visits to observe work progress and verify the installation was proceeding in conformance with the manufacturer and industry standards for quality and workmanship.  RRJ issued field reports and relevant information for distribution to the owner, contractors, and others involved in the project.
