Milwaukee Center

The Milwaukee Center is a 28-story postmodern high-rise tower occupying one-quarter of a downtown city block development.  The office tower cladding is a combination of masonry and aluminum and glass windows and curtain walls.  Concern centered on exterior leakage and masonry cracking concentrated at the shelf angles at each floor.  Leakage was experienced at windows, curtain walls, and floor lines at various elevations following construction completion.

RRJ was retained by the building developer to provide consultation and testing services to investigate the water leakage issues.  RRJ conducted close-up inspections and reviewed the work of others to develop an understanding of the nature of leakage and brick behavior.  An analysis of the brick support was included as part of the investigation.  Repair concepts were developed and presented by RRJ to correct the building problems.

RRJ also provided expert witness testimony and assistance to counsel.
