The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Building is the newest addition to the Sheppard Pratt Hospital. Shortly after the addition was constructed, hospital staff noticed slate shingles falling to the ground and other water leakage and safety concerns. A new roof was required to meet code compliance and to correct construction and design defects. RRJ was engaged to conduct a roof investigation and repair. RRJ’s on-site evaluation revealed several construction and design-related deficiencies of the light-gauge metal truss system used on the roof. RRJ tailored repairs to each individual truss, including supplemental members, additional bracing, corrosion repairs, and others.
