Tocumen International Airport South Terminal Building

The design of the new South Terminal Building includes very tall curtain walls between the main concourse floor level and roof. A large seismic drift of the floor and roof structure must be accommodated by the curtain wall.

RRJ was retained as the structural design peer reviewer for the Design-Build Contractor to provide reliability analysis and constructability consulting, including value engineering for the terminal building’s frame and roof structure, the elevated roadway accessing the new terminal, and the curtain wall system.

How RRJ helped

  • Conduct structural and water-resistance peer review
  • Perform reliability analysis
  • Perform constructability consulting
  • Perform value engineering
  • Perform laboratory mockup testing
