Evaluation and repair

This four-level parking garage at the University Square shopping center is constructed with pre-topped, precast, and prestressed concrete double tee beams supported on structural steel beams and columns.  RRJ has an ongoing engagement by multiple owners and property managers of this shopping center to investigate the garage’s condition. Problems first started with severely cracked double tee dapped ends, including several double tees at the roof level that experienced failure and required immediate shoring. Ultimately, 272 double tee dapped end locations of 3,654 total in the garage required supplemental steel support repair.
