Advocate Lutheran General Patient Tower

For the general contractor for this new, eight-story patient tower addition to an existing hospital, RRJ assessed the risk of wall and window surface condensation on several proposed masonry wall and curtain wall configurations. The exterior construction utilizes a brick veneer with concrete masonry unit (CMU) backup and incorporates a combination of curtain wall and ribbon window assemblies. The 912-bed tower creates a new face for this 60-year-old community hospital and adds increased patient beds between Lutheran General’s main hospital and children’s hospital.
