College of Lake County Science Building

The Science Building is a three-story, 42,000 square-foot addition to the college campus.  The building features a rooftop photovoltaic array, geothermal heating and cooling, rainwater harvesting, and an interior living wall. The exterior cladding incorporates continuous insulation behind an aluminum composite metal panel system, and a glass and metal panel curtain wall with integral shade fins. Prior to construction completion, the general contractor retained RRJ to investigate water leakage associated wall panel and glass curtain wall systems.

Scope of Services

  • Investigate building enclosure leakage
  • Review of architectural drawings
  • Conduct interior examinations at leakage locations
  • Conduct exterior examinations
  • Perform diagnostic water penetration testing
  • Provide comments regarding suggested remediation
  • Perform water testing on mockups and remediated locations
