Texas A&M University Music Activities Center

The university’s new music activity center allows the music department to provide better spaces for learning and secure equipment storage. This 75,000-square-foot, two-story facility contains a practice field, four rehearsal halls, soundproof practice rooms, and locker storage for instruments. Exterior walls consist of brick veneer and metal panel cladding over various air and weather barrier materials, along with several fenestrations, including windows and louvers set in punched openings through the exterior walls.  RRJ’s enclosure consulting services for the new center examined weather resistance, condensation and thermal performance, materials of the building enclosure and roofing and waterproofing systems.

Scope of Services

  • Conduct design review of the architectural drawings and specifications
  • Review exterior wall mockup details
  • Provide drawing markups and specification comments
  • Perform quality assurance site visits
  • Observe quality control testing of the enclosure components performed by others
